How to come to Kaprun in Austria
Coming by car
Coming from Germany, we would recommend traveling via the Munich-Salzburg autobahn and taking the Siegsdorf exit, continuing through Saalfelden and the Schmitten Tunnel in the direction of Mittersill past Zell am See. Ca. 5 kilometers beyond Zell am See, at the roundabout in Fürth take the 3rd exit following signs for Kaprun.
PLEASE NOTE: If you travel in from Germany without a toll sticker for your car: your best option is to travel on the Munich-Salzburg autobahn (Siegsdorf exit), continuing via Unken-Lofer!
Coming from Italy, take the autobahn towards Salzburg, exiting in Bischofshofen and continuing towards Zell am See. From there drive towards Mittersill, past Zell am See. Ca. 5 kilometers beyond Zell am See, at the roundabout in Fürth take the 3rd exit following signs for Kaprun.
From Switzerland, your best option is to take the Inntal Autobahn, exiting in Wörgl towards Felbertauern, then driving Wörgl–Kitzbühel–Mittersill/Zell am See. Just beyond Piesendorf (between Mittersill and Zell am See), at the roundabout in Fürth take the 1st exit towards Kaprun.
In the town of Kaprun: Drive towards downtown and follow the road for about 400 m. You will only cross the 3rd bridge. Standing on the left-hand side you will see the tourist office, after which comes a gentle right-hand bend. In about 100 m you will see Hotel Tauernhof to your left.
Coming by train
Zell am See is a Eurocity station, making it easy and practically ideal to reach. Once there, the taxi or bus will bring you straight to the hotel.
Coming by plane
Salzburg 'W. A. Mozart' Airport is easy for guests in Zell am See-Kaprun to reach. Salzburg is around 80 kilometers, and Munich Airport some 200 kilometers away. Then simply take a shuttle, taxi or train to Zell am See-Kaprun. We would be more than happy to organize a transfer between our hotel and the airport on your behalf.
