An almost 70-year tradition of hospitality connects the Gschwandtner & Reinhart Families with the Tauernhof. From the very outset, in 1953, when business first opened, it was the grandmother of Christina Reinhart (née Gschwandtner), Maria Gschwandtner, who ran the inn of that time with her three sisters. In the 90s, her son Gerald Gschwandtner, together with wife Inge, followed in her footsteps, taking over a business that was known far and wide simply as the "4-Mäderl-Haus" (in other words, the "House of the Lasses").

Over the years, this family establishment was steadily expanded, including construction of an extensive, modern 500 m² wellness oasis, the “Tauernreich”. And so it was that, in time, the simple inn was transformed into a 4-star hotel that more than lived up to the highest expectations of modern hospitality. The rooms and suites combine state-of-the-art conveniences with an atmosphere of Alpine-style comfort, serving as the perfect base for all your experiences in one of the most beautiful holiday regions in all of Salzburger Land.

Time-tested Tradition

Today, Christina Reinhart and husband Philip, together with Christina's parents, Inge and Gerald Gschwandtner, continue to be hosts with a true heart & passion for their family-run Tauernhof. Whilst technically well-versed hosts Philip and Gerald mainly do their part to ensure that everything around the hotel functions without a hitch, hosts Christina and Inge and their team take care of their guest's every need, also sharing personal tips for hiking, skiing and more. To ensure that the time-tested tradition of the Tauernhof is continued to perfection, Inge and Gerald are always there to lend a hand and share their insights.
